anne of green gables..

5:15 pm... uh, Jen he feels really warm to me.. so says our babysitter.
we take his temp. 99.5, so kind of, but not really. we give him tylenol, take it again a 1\2 hour later. 100.8... try to convince him to eat dinner. not interested whatsoever.
we gave him a lukewarm bath to try to cool him down. took his temp again. 101.6? i don't really remember, i just knew it was getting higher. we continued to take his temp and it continued to move up the scale. at 10:30 it was 102 under his arm. we gave him some more tylenol and we began the vigil of watching him overnight. i really didn't want to take him to the hospital if we didn't have to.

we were right on the cusp, and i was just praying that it would be crystal clear what we should do. we took his temp a 1\2 hour later and it was going down. i set the alarm and got up about an hour and a half later and it was down to 99. praise the Lord!

this morning his temp is down, but still present. we have an appointment at the dr.
my guess? his ear infection is back. i don't think i ever blogged about that, but after we got the second round of antibiotics, we took it 3 days, and then it FROZE in our fridge. we got another RX only for it to happen again. The pharmacy assures me it was our fridge, I assured them it wasn't, because it was the ONLY THING that was frozen. anyway... we called our ped and they said to not worry about giving him the rest of the meds... yeah... so here we are.

this was our first fever escapade, and let me tell you it was scary stuff. i felt like anne, on anne of green gables... you know when diana calls her and says her sister is really sick, and she runs over, and says.. call the doctor, and then adminiters epicac until the dr. arrives? okay, it wasn't that bad, but that's kind of how i felt getting up and checking on him all night long.
