
that's what's on the horizon, and it's been like that for the past couple of days. the heat is oppressive. the air feels heavy to breathe. there are cooling centers now open in our town for those who need a reprieve, as the heat index has been above 100 the last couple of days, and is supposed to climb well above 100 the next two days as well. heat warnings are in effect and they encouraging people to stay in their homes. it's so dry out, everything is turning brown, our garden desperately needs rain, and this stifling heat isn't helping.
we are thankful for our AC. while they are running constantly to keep the house cool, i'm so incredibly thankful for a place to cool off.
