We have been hit with big news, and unfortunately it's not the kind of news you want to hear.
Mike was told on Monday that as of December 30th he would be laid off, permanantly, from work. He will receive one month of severance, so we'll have his income through the end of January and then it's adios to any income. Merry Christmas to us, huh?
Mike has the possibility of transfering to the same company, but over in the Detroit area. We could potentially do that, but it would require a move, and we're not sure we want to pick up and move our family for a company who just threw us to the curb. The Detroit option has been on the table for about a month, but it feels like a lateral move. We have always said that the next time we moved to another job, we wanted to move towards ministry, which is where our hearts are. We are looking down every avenue we can, but I think we both feel strongly that maybe it's time to move more difinitively towards ministry. However, when you don't have a job, suddenly it feels like a viable option.
We are trusting that God has a plan for us, and knows exactly where we need to be, and we're holding to that truth and trusting that His ways will be made clear to us. Obviously we are job hunting en masse, and are hoping for the best.
We covet your prayers for our family as we move through this process.
Thanks, friends.
