Strawberry Picking!

Mike had today off of work, and I had been wanting to do some berry picking. Today was the PERFECT day for it. The weather was cool (around 60), a nice breeze, and in general just a lovely day. So we decided we would go picking! We headed out to a local strawberry patch. The picking was great. In a 1\2 hour we picked 14lbs of berries!

We came home and spent the better part of the afternoon washing, hulling, slicing, dicing, freezing and making some jam. We have 6 gallons of frozen sliced strawberries, 3 pints of freezer jam (though I"m guessing I'll make more with the frozen berries), and about 6 cups of fresh berries in the fridge... YUMMY!!
