garden success

Every spring we plant a garden at some dear friends home. They own 80 acres out on a farm, and they graciously allow us to plant in their fields. The weather has been SO crummy this spring that we haven't had a chance to plant yet. Well, saturday we went and bought everything for our garden, which was a chore to say the least. So many people bought and then had to replant because we got so many late frosts that there weren't very many plants out. It took us 1 hour and 4 stores to get everything we needed.

The List:

20 tomato plants----4 grape tomatoes, 4 jet star, 4 big boy, and 2 yellow.
14 pepper plants -----8 green peppers, and 6 banana pepper
2 big bunches of onions
2 zucchini plants
2 yellow squash plants
2 cantelope plants
4 sweet corn
and seeds of bush beans, carrots, and peas...

Yesterday Mike got home early and we were able to go out and finally plant!! It took about 2 hours and was definitely tiring, but we are glad it is in!

The finished project! It doesn't look like much now.. but it will soon... :)

Now... bring on the veggies!!!!!!

ooh! Gardening is so fun. I love watching the plants grow and you can't beat a fresh vegetable. :-)

Also, I got caught up in a game of blog tag, so "tag, you're it" (check my blog for the details.)

Have a wonderful weekend Jen!
