an evening at home

today has been a rainy cold day.

mike and i have both been battling massive colds this week, and working in the cold and rain has not helped my dear husband. have i mentioned recently how madly i am in love with him? he is the kindest, most compassionate, caring man i know, and i'm so honored to call him my husband.

so tonight, i decided we'd stay in and enjoy a nice evening together.
i decided to make homemade soup for dinner. i don't really have a recipe and am just making it up, so hopefully it tastes good. it has chicken, tomatoes, green peppers, onions, carrots, and some spices. i think i may add some barley to it as well. it smells good right now, so that's good news! i think we'll have some biscuits of sorts as well.
i'm going to go rent a movie, and pick up some hot cocoa and popcorn for later.

more and more i realize how few days we have left as just "mike and jen" and i'm trying to revel in them as much as we can. we are officially in the third trimester and i can't believe that in 13 short weeks our little peanut will be here with us.

here's to an evening of relaxation and couple time.

I've always been a little envious of people who can just throw a bunch of ingredients into a pot and call it dinner - AND make it taste good. That's not me, LOL! :)
