baby stuff

Had a drs. appointment yesterday and all was good. I asked about my ribs and per what I thought he said.. well... you can try tylenol or a hot pack. I said I've tried both neither works, and he just kind of laughed and said.. sorry there isn't much you can do..... Anyway everything was fine...I can bet everyweek on my dr saying.. "I don't see any problems, everything looks good, Jennifer. If you have any cramping, bleeding, gush of fluid, give us a call. We'll see you in a week." Sound familiar, Jessica? ;) This week he did add.. If you have contractions for an hour 5 minutes apart head to labor and delivery...

Tonight is new years eve, and we are heading to my sisters house to hang out with our small group of friends. It should be fun, and hopefully I can manage to stay up until midnight.. we'll see. ;)

I can't believe January will be here tomorrow. Our baby is due in January. YIKES! It's coming so fast. We've gotten a TON done over break though so that's been nice. We actually kind of changed some things up. We've been planning on using the Britax Marathon car seat from the beginning. The safety ratings are unmatched which was big for us. The only problem really was the seat had to stay in the car. We weren't really worried until we started thinking about how often we switch vehicles, and how we would have to leave the kid somewhere and not be able to leave a car seat without uninstalling and reinstalling the car seat. Once I go back to work that will be basically every day. We decided to keep the Britax because eventually we will use it.... but as we hashed and rehashed for quite a while, and finally decided that as much as we WANT the Britax to work for us, for our family it wouldn't work.
My parents bought us our stroller for Christmas which we LOVE.

so after researching we went ahead and purchased the Chicco KeyFit30 car seat.

The chicco is the highest rated infant carrier car seat on the market, so that was reassuring to us. We'll have an extra base in our other car, and my parents have already said they'll buy a base so that will be nice.

Hoping everyone has a safe and happy new years eve!

rib pain

i have to say, i've felt relatively good through pregnancy. sure, i puke constantly, and still do at 36 weeks, but i've come to not think of that as anything. however, i've reached a new level of uncomfortable pain this weekend. i'm not sure exactly what has happened, but i suddenly have an excruciating amount of rib pain. i don't know if i've pulled something, whacked something out of place, or what, but i'm in an incredible about of pain. it hurts to sit, stand, breath deep, cough, laugh, blow my nose, and oh yes... puke...

everything i've read says this is pretty normal, and there isn't much they can do about it. the baby is growing, your uterus is expanding up into your rib cage, and there you have it.... pain. i've been taking tylenol and that doesn't even touch it. i'm posting at 3:30am, because it woke me up and i couldn't get back to sleep. most of what i read says you just have to take it easy and relax.. HAHAHA! I love that. I suppose Chrismas break is better than say a week ago, but I do have to go back to work in a week.

Have any of you ever dealt with this? Any tips? I have an appointment on tuesday, but i'm sure he'll say something really unhelpful like... oh yeah, that's really common, try tylenol... yeah. thanks. i'm guessing there isn't much i can do at this point except grin and bear it, but... what they hey, i'm willing to try just about anything, because honestly, this is worse than puking.

merry christmas

Look what Santa brought! :)

Mike and I have been debating and discussing Christmas for quite some time. We decided we would go ahead and get a new digital camera. So, after a ridiculous amount of research, and I think about driving the guy at the camera place crazy we decided on the FujiFilm S2000. Unfortunately Santa will deliver it next week around Tuesday or Wednesday, but that's okay.... it will be nice to get it soon!

More exciting was that on Tuesday this week, I got a call from one of the directors I play for who said he had something for me. That something turned out to be quite a nice bonus. So... we decided to go ahead and purchase the FLIP video. Some friends have one and really recommended it to us... so we bought that and put it under our tree for yesterday morning.

36 weeks

36 weeks and counting.

I had an appointment today. Per usual, boring, nothing exciting. I did however have to joy of having the Strep B test done. The only exciting part about that was that he checked me for any dialation which led to zilch, zero, nada..He said he could get his fingertip in.... kind of weird, and gross to think about if you ask me.

I asked how big he thought the baby was. He laughed and said.. ah.. the age old question... how about somewhere between 6-9lbs? Sound good to you? Um I guess? Seems like you could tell me something since I do pay you a zillion dollars!

He did say that since I'm officially 36 weeks if I go into labor they won't stop me, which is great..

Anyway, those are the stats.. less than a month to go. my BP was a little higher than normal, but the nurse said.. eh.. it's probably christmas and the fact that the roads are AWFUL outside! they weren't worried and said everything looks good.

here's a pic

Oh and I'd like to officially welcome
Zachary Paul to the world.. welcome little man!...

It's a girl, no wait... a BOY!

Let me say.. this is not a post about us.. we have no baby... yet.... :)

Some dear friends have been eagerly expecting and anticipating the arrival of their sweet baby. Emily was due Christmas day but they had decided to induce her this morning. She actually went into labor on her own last night. She had a natural birth as she went from 3cm to 10cm in an hour.. I can only wish, right?
I got a call from Em this morning to say.. hey guess what... I'm a mom.... to a BOY! This wouldn't be so surprising except that they had told them they were having a girl... OOPS! She said that she pushed him out, the dr. said "it's a boy", and Adam and Em, said, WHAT?!? This is their 3rd baby, and they have a boy and girl already, so at least they have some clothes at home... :)
So.. congratulations to you, dear friends, on your precious surprising baby boy... No name yet because they didn't have a boy's name picked out... so for now..

Welcome to the world little baby davidson! :)

preggo stats

1)Yesterday we bought the last of our cloth diapering supplies. It makes me smile. :)

2) My fall was uneventful, I suppose. I was really sore for a couple of days, but I'm a-okay and baby seems to be fine, as far as I know! :) I do have an appointment tomorrow and I"ll ask about it just to be sure.

3) I'm pretty sure I had my first some sort of contraction this weekend. Whether is Braxton Hicks or regular, I have no idea. But.. I felt this sharp pain in my stomach, which took my breath away. I finally stood up and bent over and that helped aleviate it.

4) Contractions?!?! When did I get to this point.. I'll be 35 weeks tomorrow.

5) Which brings me to point 5.. why at 35 weeks do I still find my head in the toilet? I'm SO READY to be done puking.
